Foundation Degree in Health & Social Care Levels 4, 5

This course is run by the University of Wolverhampton but is taught entirely at Telford College over a two year period full–time and for three years part–time. Attendance is on Wednesdays and Thursdays and students are required to arrange work experience throughout their time on the course, if they are not already working in a relevant field.

Students study 6 modules in each year which include:

  • Social Policy
  • Health Promotion
  • Reflective Practice
  • Mental Health
  • Physical Health
  • Inequalities
  • Research Methods
  • Care Values and Management

They are required to submit written assignments which include essays, exams and presentations.

Fees and living expenses can be funded through the Higher Education student loans system and applications should be made through UCAS for full-time and through the University of Wolverhampton website for part-time. The entry requirement is a Level 3 qualification e.g. A Levels, BTEC Diploma, Access to Higher Education Diploma but other courses at this level will be considered.

Once the course is completed, there is an opportunity for students to progress to the third year (Level 6) of an Honours Degree at the University of Wolverhampton.
