BTEC First in Web Design & Games Development
This is a level 2 course for anyone who has a genuine interest in computing and wishes to enter a career in Information Technology including Games Development, Web Design, Programming and Network Management.
The course will give you the opportunity to gain hands on experience in computing and its applications. It will also give students a chance to develop an understanding of how Computers operate and how they are used in the world of work.
Subjects covered will include:
- Games Development (including creating a 3D computer game)
- Web Design
- Multimedia
- Installing and upgrading computer hardware
- Computer Systems
- Working and Communicating in the IT industry (how to work in the many different fields of IT)
The programme will also include sessions in the Functional Skills of Numeracy and Literacy.

Next Steps:
The course has units in both hardware and software and will help students decide which career path they wish to take.
The course is ideal for students wishing to progress on to a Level 3 IT course.
