What's on offer?

  • English language classes for work and study
  • Speaking and listening classes to improve pronunciation, fluency and discussion skills
  • Listening lab to offer individualised listening and pronunciation practice
  • Reading and writing programmes to increase vocabulary and improve grammatical accuracy and letter / essay presentation
  • Shift classes repeated at different times for shift workers
  • Citizenship classes for those wishing to apply for indefinite Leave to remain in the UK (ILR) or British naturalisation

Qualifications

Students prepare for City and Guilds national ESOL certificates at all levels from beginner (Entry 1) to Advanced (Level 2)

We also offer University of Cambridge EFL certificates and preparation for IELTS / TOEIC examinations

ESOL citizenship courses prepare students for English language tests recognised by the UK Border Agency (UKBA)

What will it cost?

Fees vary according to personal circumstances but most home students will be asked to pay for ESOL courses unless in receipt of employment benefits. ESOL classes will cost around £6.50 / hour for home students and £8.50 / hour for international students. Learning materials and exam fees are included in the course fees so there will be no further expenses to pay. If you receive JSA / ESA, course fees may be reduced.

Opening times

  • Monday to Thursday  9.30am to 12pm,  1.15pm to 3.45pm,   7pm to 9pm
  • Friday  9.30am to 12pm,  1.15pm to 3.45pm
  • Students can enrol termly and can study for a minimum of 10 weeks.

    How to apply

    All new students need to meet an English language tutor to discuss which level is most suitable and to find out more about our ESOL courses. You will need to bring some ID (passport, national ID card etc) so that we can advise your status.
