Catering and Hospitality

The catering and hospitality industry is booming right now – there is certainly no shortage of job opportunities for students with the right qualifications.

And TCAT’s on-site restaurant, The Orange Tree, is the perfect training ground for anyone seeking a career in the food sector, with its two training and production kitchens.

Our hospitality courses explore the wide variety of services provided by hospitality organisations, whilst offering a thorough introduction to the skills required for success in the industry. Hospitality is a fast-paced, vibrant and exciting industry that offers opportunities to work all over the world.

Catering courses enable students to learn all about the preparation, cooking and presentation of different food groups, including meat, poultry, fish and vegetables.

You’ll also get chance to master the art of producing a rice, pasta and pastry dish.

You’ll complete food hygiene qualifications, and have the opportunity  to experience work placements – as well as getting weekly work experience at The Orange Tree.

Work is assessed throughout the year through a combination of assignments, coursework, observation and online exams.
