Design and Technology, Level 3 Design & Technology (Engineering)
In a world driven by ever increasing efficiency there is a need for industry to look at employees who are multi|skilled This course provides a broad based
introduction to engineering principles and skills which are applied in many areas of engineering.
The City & Guilds 2850 Certificate in Engineering is made up of units. You will study these over one year fulltime and will be able to see your progress
as you meet and complete a whole range of new subjects (Engineering).
The course consists of core and optional units with subject titles that may include:
- Working Effectively and Safely in an Engineering Environment
- Engineering Principals and Practice
- Computer Aided Design
- Computer Numerical Control
- Robotics
- Welding
Units may be subject to change.
Attendance is 1 year Full-time study
Assessment through end tests, which are Assignments, that means, Practical tasks.

Entry Requirements
- City & Guilds Level 2
- 1st Diploma in Engineering&€59;
4 GCSE AC grades including Maths and Science
- A successful interview showing good dedication Mature students with industrial experience are welcome to apply and will be interviewed
Further Study
- A separate qualification can be studied in a second year. This provides learners with flexibility if their requirements change after year 1
- Successful progression to a year 2 will consist of a subsidiary BTEC Diploma in Engineering, full-time.
- Successful completion of year 1 is required to progress to year 2
- Successful completion of year 2 may be used for progression to a Foundation Degree for suitable candidates
