BTEC 1st Diploma in Engineering
The course provides young people with a broad based introduction to manufacturing engineering and the Electrical and mechanical principles and Skills applied in manufacture.
The course consists of core and optional units with subject titles that include:

There is a mix of academic and practical activities with high quality equipment and resources that give the learners a variety of experiences with the technologies that are in use in the Workplace. This provides a sound basis for transition into the Industry as trainee technicians in mechanical, aeronautical, electrical/electronic or manufacturing engineering.
This is a 1 year course
The course will run 3 days a week (18 hours of study per week) over 34 weeks
The award for successful completion is a nationally recognised qualification at Level 2 and this provides a route for progression to the following Level 3 courses:
