Working in the care industry
Interested in care as a career or already working in the sector and looking for a qualification which develops your career path, then an Apprentice qualification could be your answer.
They give learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for employment. The qualifications also provide career development opportunities for those already in work, and confirm competence in areas of Health, Health and Social Care and Child Care. Qualifications are nationally recognised and based on National Occupational Standards (NOS)
Qualifications for roles
Apprentice qualifications confirm competence in areas for roles such as:
- Care assistants /support workers/key workers in residential settings
- Healthcare assistants/support workers in community and primary care environments
- Healthcare assistants/support workers in acute health environments
- Care assistants/support workers/key workers in domiciliary services
- Care assistants/support workers/key workers in day services
- Support workers in supported living projects
- Community–based care assistants/support workers/key workers,including those working in specialist areas, e.g. dementia, learning disabilities
- Personal assistants employed directly by the individual they support or their families
- Laboratory/Pathology Technicians either educational or scientific
- Child Care–Pre school/Nursery
