Welcome to our parents’ guide to the newly formed Telford College.

Telford College has been formed from the merger of Telford College of Arts and Technology and New College Telford – bringing together academic expertise, strong university links and a proud track record of working closely with employers to produce career-ready students.

We know you want to help your son or daughter make the right choice when it comes to leaving school. It can be a challenge, with lots of options to choose from and pressure to make important career decisions.  They’ll be thinking about their future career, whether they will fit in or get the grades they need, as well as perhaps thinking about careers or university and the costs of eventually moving away from home.

Some students may need support with their confidence or self esteem.  Some may lack focus on what they really want to do after sitting compulsory GCSEs that may not match their true skills, creativity, or technical abilities. Others may need additional support to achieve their true potential.

At Telford College, we are here to help every young person by raising their aspirations, helping them set goals and targets, and giving them the study and employability skills to make it happen. Please read on to find out about the variety of study options available, how to identify which study option best suits your son or daughter, and how we ensure their success.
I look forward to meeting you at one of our open events soon.

Our Mission: Employment, careers & economic success

The college’s mission is to significantly contribute to the economic development and
regeneration of Telford and Wrekin, and the region as a whole. It is the college of choice
for employers such as JLR, GKN and Epson as well as leading universities.
Students benefit from a well-planned curriculum which offers choice, flexibility and
enables
them to develop strong academic, vocational and employability skills.
